How to Turn Off or On Keyboard Backlight

To turn on the backlight for your laptop’s keyboard, you can follow these. Just remember, the method might change based on your laptop brand & model:

Keyboard Shortcuts:

Most laptops have a special key or combo to light up the keyboard. You might find some of these common shortcuts helpful:

Try Fn + **F3/F4/F5/F6/F7/F/F9/F10; one of those function keys usually has a picture of a keyboard with light rays.

For some Lenovo laptops, you can use Fn + Spacebar.

Laptop Settings:

You might also control the backlight through BIOS or system settings.

BIOS Settings:

Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI setup by hitting the right key during startup (it’s usually F2, Del, Esc, or F10). Look around for keyboard backlight settings & enable them.

System Settings:

Windows:

Head to Settings > System > Keyboard (or Device Manager > Keyboard). Search for backlight settings & turn them on.

MacOS:

Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab. Tick the box for “Adjust keyboard brightness in low light” and use the slider to change brightness.

Manufacturer Software:

Sometimes, brands have their own software to manage the keyboard backlight:

For Dell, you can check out Dell QuickSet or Dell Power Manager.

For HP, try HP Command Center or HP OMEN Command Center.

If you have a Lenovo, look for Lenovo Vantage or Lenovo Settings app.

For Asus, see if Asus Armoury Crate or MyAsus app is available.

Check the User Manual:

If none of this works, take a peek at your laptop’s user manual. It should have specific instructions for turning on the keyboard backlight.

Oh! And if you tell me your laptop’s make & model, I could help with more exact instructions!
