Punjab Govt Launches ‘Free WiFi’ in Nankana Sahib

LAHORE: Exciting news! The Punjab government has just kicked off its “Free Wi” program in Nankana Sahib after seeing great success Lahore & Kasur earlier this week.

Today, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz shared some amazing details. She mentioned that over five million people in Lahore have used this free internet service, showing how successful the project really is!

But there’s more! Soon, the Safe Cities project will launch in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. After that, it will reach out to 18 cities across Punjab!

Following Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directions, the free Wi-Fi access in Lahore has expanded. It grew from 100 spots to an impressive 200 spots!

You can find this free Wi-Fi in places like Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chuhng, Shahpur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, Maraka, and other areas too.

According to an official announcement, the free emergency Wi-Fi is all part of the ‘Digital Punjab’ vision.

In emergencies? You can quickly reach out to police, family members or use important apps like the Women’s Safety app and WhatsApp.

However—just a heads up—this free service doesn’t include access to Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or any entertainment apps. Each Wi-Fi point covers about 300 feet. So stay connected!
