Sindh announces to distribution free tablet for the students
Students from Class IX to Intermediate level will be getting free tablets this Thursday
So, here’s what’s happening: the decision aims to fix the hold-up and lack of textbooks. It’s all about making sure students can keep learning without any hiccups.
This announcement was made at an event held at the Sindh Textbook Board warehouse in Karachi. Abdul Aleem Lashari, the Chairman of the Sindh Textbook Board, was there. He talked to the media about how giving out tablets will help avoid problems in students’ studies caused by late textbooks.
“We want to make sure that delays don’t get in the way of learning. That’s why we are giving free tablets to students from Class IX to Intermediate level,” Lashari explained.
He also mentioned that they will roll out the tablets in phases. First, advanced students will get them, then they’ll broaden it to include other classes. This is part of a bigger plan to modernize education and eventually make the Sindh Textbook Board paperless!
By the way, Lashari noted that the final call on tablet distribution will come from the Sindh Chief Minister before they kick off the process.
Right now, they’re almost done with distributing free textbooks for this school year! About 3 crore books have come from 30 districts throughout Sindh. They started handing them out on July 30, and the second phase is set to launch on August 15.
Lashari shared that some technical issues & legal challenges caused delays in textbook distribution. However, he assured everyone that books have been sent to 17 districts, and Karachi has completed its distribution process. If there’s any delay in getting books out, publishers will step in with proper solutions.
